The Millers were down on the southwest side of Indianapolis today up against Avon.
They could not have started the game off quicker. In the first minute of the match, freshman Carsten Shidler took a shot and put it in the goal. The Millers kept up the pressure throughout the entire first half, missing chance after chance. Avon fought back and earned a goal off of a Noblesville own goal.
The team responded quickly after that goal. Sophomore Keller Willis scored on a corner from Brady Frayer. Two minutes after the go-ahead goal, Frayer scored himself. This took the Millers into halftime leading 3-1.
The second half was filled with a little less action on both sides of the ball. The Millers scored their fourth and final goal off of a gorgeous assist from Jake Lysiuk. Carson Mertens scored the goal.
The Millers play Brebeuf on Thursday for their annual ‘pink-out’ game to support the Megan S. Ott foundation.
